See this kid? It's a good thing he's so cute, because he made me that mom today. You know that mom. The one with the screaming child? Today was H1N1 booster shot day. Mind you, Jake did not have time to shed one tear when he received his first H1N1 shot. He was a little wound up, but it was over before he had a chance to really cause a scene. But this time, he had 30 days to think about it, and then he watched Kyle go first like it was a train wreck. He couldn't look away. So by the time it was his turn, he was convinced it was going to be awful and that's when the screaming began. Now, when your child won't sit till for a shot in the arm, they have to resort to the leg. This is when the wrestling match to get Jake's pants down began. Can you all picture this? I'm sure some of you have lived it. I had to lay on top of him to pin his arms against his chest because he would not stop trying to pull up his pants. Kyle decided to go out to the waiting room and he told me afterward that the other people there were asking him about his brother. Nice. Good to know for sure that the people in the waiting room heard it all. Like I wasn't able to read it all over their faces when we finally came out. That slow walk of humiliation through the waiting room. Was the look in their eyes pity for me? Pity for Jake? Judgement? Hard to say. Oh well, just another day in the life.
